I’m asking all my friends to send in tasty recipes if ya got ’em.
Tell me where they came from, or if you made them up. Please don’t send someone else’s recipe without acknowledging them.
If you have “slightly tweaked” a published recipe, let us know what recipe you started from. I believe the rule-of thumb is that you have to change at least 3 things before the recipe is yours. Not just changing 1/4 teaspoon to 1/2 a teaspoon isn’t enough. So, let’s see what ya got!
I would like this blog to have a ton of recipes from all over. The more delicious recipes we can share, the better off we all are. I plan to video my friend, Dani, from the Philippines while he cooks his Turkey Adobo, and the tiny Philippine grocery store that “you have to know about” to find them.
Another friend from Boston with her Italian Nona’s Meatball recipe. The secret is that you have to shave the garlic, mincing and crushing don’t give the same flavor. (Who am I to argue?)
I also plan to have some recipes for diabetics. I’m sure you all just started to salivate … right? Well, if you look around there aren’t a lot of cookbooks that have a great selection. The nutritionists have a tough job, they have to figure out the carbs, the fats, the sugar, etc. Well, I am not a nutritionist, or a doctor, so I’ll let you know what works for me, and you can ask your doctor or nutritionist if it’s okay for you. We are all different with different needs and allowances.
Stay tuned. Thanks!
